ECE Directors: Do you need help in the office? Apprenticeship to Leadership is here to help!
If you have an experienced lead teacher ready to step into leadership, Neighborhood Villages can help make that happen. Our state-registered ECE Director apprenticeship program creates a structured, co-supported pathway for your teacher to become director-qualified while providing you with an in-office intern for a full year.
How it works:
Your lead teacher enrolls as a registered apprentice, takes a once-weekly evening course in Childcare Administration and Infant/Toddler Curriculum (fully funded by Neighborhood Villages), and continues teaching in the classroom. Once they earn their EEC Director 1 credential, they join you in the office as an assistant director or administrator for a one-year internship, applying ongoing cost-free PDs in director-level topics under your mentorship.
For you, the Director:
- $4,200 MA tax credit per apprentice you host
- $1,000 mentor stipend per apprentice (for you or another qualified administrator)
- Director-level college credits and PDs for your educator, at no cost to your program
- Ready-made leadership pipeline and office support
- VIP access to Neighborhood Villages services and events
For your Apprentice:
- A paid path to directorship with regular wage increases
- Cost-free coursework in Business, Reflective Supervision, Licensing, and more
- Flexible, remote evening classes, one night per week
- Wrap-around support and tech assistance
- VIP access to Neighborhood Villages services and events
