Pathways Behavioral Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive substance abuse and mental health prevention and treatment services within its community. Established in 1967, the agency serves multiple counties with a focus on early intervention, community outreach, and evidence-based programs to support individuals and families.
The Engagement Specialist is housed at and works within Black Hawk County jail to support and assist clients as they seek substance use treatment while incarcerated. Using the team model, the Engagement Specialist will utilize the expertise of various team members for the benefit of the client.
The Engagement Specialist’s duties include:
*Understand and monitor each client’s concerns, questions, and provide information on substance use treatment by responding to and following up through the Cidnet message system within Black Hawk County jail.
*Maintain a list of clients requesting services, follow up with each and meet with inmates individually to sign releases and schedule in InSync HER to see a counselor face to face.
*Support day to day collaboration between those receiving Pathways services and the Black Hawk County jail’s social workers, various attorneys, probation officers, other law enforcement, Naphcare primary care staff within the jail, and other behavioral health providers and community resource providers regarding the client’s involvement in treatment services.
*Provide education-related resources, health-related information, support group meeting times, or other information per client request.
*Support the Black Hawk County Drug Diversion program by attending court, providing client participation updates, meeting with clients during court to sign releases and schedule evaluations within InSync EHR to ensure participant success.
*Support the Black Hawk Drug Court programs by attending court, providing client participation updates, scheduling appointments, etc.
*Support Family Treatment Court to keep informed of community resources and coordination available in Black Hawk County for those involved with Pathways.
* Attend meetings as needed, collect data as requested, and complete required paperwork.
***Must have BA degree and experience working in the substance abuse field answering client questions and interacting with clients. Demonstrate competency with email, internet, and word processing computer programs
Pay: $51,370.08 - $56,599.14 per year
