Join Our Team as a Mechanical Repair Technician!
Are you someone who enjoys working with your hands, solving mechanical problems, and keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently? We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Mechanical Repair Technician to join our in-house service team.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for repairing, assembling, troubleshooting, and maintaining durable medical equipment (DME) used to improve the lives of patients and caregivers every day. From wheelchairs and hospital beds to mobility and accessibility equipment, your work will directly support the delivery of safe, reliable healthcare solutions to those who depend on them.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys technical, hands-on work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Electrical repair experience is a strong plus for this position.
What You’ll Do
- Assemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair durable medical equipment including wheelchairs, hospital beds, lifts, scooters, seating systems, and other mobility products
- Perform preventative maintenance, adjustments, and functional testing to ensure equipment safety and performance
- Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently using hand and power tools
- Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting and component replacement when applicable
- Clean, refurbish, and prepare returned equipment for reissue following company and infection control standards
- Maintain accurate repair documentation, work orders, and service records
- Organize and maintain tools, parts inventory, and workshop cleanliness
- Work collaboratively with warehouse, delivery, and clinical teams to support operational needs
- Assist with equipment quality checks prior to delivery or patient setup
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical school, vocational training, or mechanical/electrical certifications preferred
- Mechanical repair, assembly, maintenance, or technician experience strongly preferred
- Electrical troubleshooting or repair experience is a plus
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Comfortable lifting and moving equipment up to 75 lbs.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a team-oriented environment
- Previous DME, medical equipment, automotive, industrial maintenance, or small engine repair experience is beneficial

Additional Details
This is primarily an in-house position based at our Tarentum location, working within a warehouse and service repair environment. Occasional assistance with equipment movement, delivery preparation, or operational support may be required.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
