Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, ensuring quick processing of sales transactions
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales revenue
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments, and provide correct change in accordance with food safety and cash handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns promptly for optimal guest relations
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on fine dining preferred
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for efficient sales processing
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse needs gracefully
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques including drink presentation and bartending basics
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts while maintaining quality service
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for order totals, tips, and cash handling procedures
- Culinary experience or food industry background that supports menu familiarity and food safety practices
- Experience with reservation systems like OpenTable is a plus for managing guest bookings smoothly
- Strong communication skills paired with a friendly demeanor to foster guest satisfaction and team collaboration
