Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Restoration Technician with hands-on skills in carpentry, painting, drywall installation, and property damage restoration.
In this position, you will work at residential and commercial properties affected by fire, water, wind, and other types of structural damage. You will complete assigned restoration and reconstruction tasks, communicate with project managers and property owners, and ensure that work is completed safely, professionally, and according to schedule.
The ideal candidate can perform carpentry, painting, and drywall work with minimal supervision and is comfortable working in active restoration environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform finish and general carpentry work, including trim installation, baseboards, door hanging, casing, miter cuts, and material cutting.
- Measure, cut, and install materials according to project specifications.
- Install drywall and complete taping, mudding, sanding, feathering, and finishing.
- Blend repaired drywall into existing walls and ceilings to create a smooth, consistent finish.
- Complete interior and exterior painting using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and texture application methods.
- Match stains, paint colors, textures, and existing finishes when completing repairs.
- Safely operate power tools, table saws, ladders, measuring equipment, and other construction tools.
- Load, transport, and deliver tools and materials to job sites using company vehicles.
- Keep job sites, vehicles, tools, and work areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Coordinate with project managers regarding daily assignments, materials, timelines, and job-site progress.
- Provide regular updates regarding completed work, delays, material needs, or unexpected site conditions.
- Communicate professionally and empathetically with property owners affected by fire, flooding, wind damage, or other loss events.
- Follow company safety procedures and accepted construction and restoration practices.
- Troubleshoot job-site problems and recommend practical solutions.
- Participate in emergency board-up and on-call response rotations.
- Assist and train less-experienced technicians when assigned.
- Perform other restoration and construction duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least two years of hands-on experience in property restoration, carpentry, painting, drywall, construction, remodeling, or a closely related trade.
- Ability to perform carpentry, painting, and drywall repair tasks with limited supervision.
- Experience installing trim, doors, baseboards, casing, and other finish materials.
- Experience installing and finishing drywall, including taping, mudding, sanding, and feathering.
- Knowledge of painting methods, including rolling, spraying, texturing, staining, and finish matching.
- Ability to safely operate power tools and table saws.
- Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, measurements, and job-site safety.
- OSHA 10 certification or a higher OSHA safety certification.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Ability to travel to job sites within the assigned service region.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, property owners, project managers, and team members.
- Ability to manage assignments, schedules, materials, and job-site priorities.
- Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for communication, documentation, and work updates.
- Availability to participate in rotating emergency and board-up assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of property restoration or reconstruction experience.
- Previous experience working at fire-, water-, flood-, or wind-damaged properties.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- IICRC FSRT certification.
- IICRC WRT certification.
- IICRC ASD certification.
- IICRC OCT certification.
- Fall Protection Training.
- Forklift or Telehandler certification.
- Wisconsin Dwelling Contractor license or an equivalent credential.
- Experience leading technicians or training junior team members.

Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to:

Work Environment
