Overview
Founded in 2002, Latinitas is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering girls and their communities through culturally relevant education. Latinitas is seeking a Part- Time Program Leader to support Latinitas programming with our afterschool programs and multi-gen programming. 20- 25 hours per week.
The Program Leader will demonstrate strong leadership skills and will be able to maintain and effectively facilitate and execute program deliverables. Program leaders administer our TEKS-supportive STEM curriculum. In addition, the Program Leader will guide students to follow our Power Chica learning process to develop their Confidence, Connections, Curiosity, Creativity and Collaboration skills.
Program Leader Responsibilities
- Facilitates in-person afterschool programming, Club Latinitas, 3-4x times per week in Southeast Austin and/or Del Valle, TX in AISD and DVISD Elementary and Middle school campuses
- Assists in facilitating single Day Camps throughout the school year (8am - 12am) (12-5pm) and Spring Break Camp (2027)
- Assists in Latinitas community events (SOMOS, TecKermes, Workforce Readiness) as needed
- Provides a positive and welcoming environment for our students
- Review of lesson plans and materials before every session
- Supports Latinitas programming as needed (Conferences, Workshops, Community Events)
Program Leader Qualifications
- Must be bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Must have reliable transportation (This position requires traveling to Southeast Austin and/or Del Valle, TX)
- Availability at least 3 - 4 days; Monday - Fridays from 2pm - 6pm for afterschool programming
- Preference will be given to candidates that can attend 4 afterschool clubs a week
- Must have some experience working with youth/children in a classroom, camp, workshop or community space.
- Must show strong leadership and communication skills.
- Independent and self-starter
- Able to adapt to program changes and challenges as they are planned and executed.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and standard knowledge of professional etiquette in email, phone and in-person collaboration.
- Understanding of and enthusiastic about the Latinitas mission, vision, and programs.
- Organized, resourceful, and creative
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
