Position Overview
Are you an experienced logistics professional who is tired of the rigid, grueling corporate grind at a massive shipping hub? Do you want to step into a leadership role where your hard work actually matters, without sacrificing the fast-paced environment you thrive in?
A rapidly growing, national biopharmaceutical organization (currently a tight-knit team of 10 people) is seeking a Warehouse & Shipping Lead. Please note: This is not a desk job. This is a highly active, 75% "on-the-floor" physical role where you will directly execute, oversee, and perfect our outbound logistics inside our Board of Pharmacy licensed facility.
The ideal candidate possesses absolute meticulousness, a background in handling temperature-sensitive goods, and a desire to take ownership of a shipping department during a massive phase of national expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Physical Logistics & Packing (75% of Role): Actively work on the warehouse floor to physically pack, label, and prepare orders. Safely move and handle raw materials, including overhead lifting of 10-to-20-kilogram barrels of powder.
- The "99% Accuracy" Mandate: Take total ownership of order accuracy. Implement flawless quality control checks so that no shipment ever goes out missing an item or containing the wrong product. Order completion and accuracy are absolute law.
- Multi-Profile Temperature Management: Oversee the specialized packaging, climate validation, and monitoring for three distinct temperature profiles: ambient (shelf), refrigerated, and cold storage (frozen).
- Digital Inventory Control: Utilize our custom, internal digital inventory management system to track incoming raw materials and outbound products. Perform regular audits to maintain perfect digital records (no clipboards).
- Documentation & Logistics (25% of Role): Generate, verify, and archive critical shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOL), dangerous goods declarations, and chain-of-custody forms. Utilize local hub proximity to optimize shipping times and costs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- The Ideal Persona: 5 to 10 years of experience working high-volume, demanding shifts at a major shipping/logistics hub (e.g., UPS) is highly preferred. We want someone ready to transition their hub expertise into a lead role within a small business.
- Physical Demands: Must be physically capable of standing for long periods, bending, and lifting/moving 10-to-20-kilogram barrels overhead daily.
- Technical Literacy: Proven experience using modern digital inventory tracking software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Sage, or equivalent WMS). High comfort level adapting to custom digital platforms.
- Compliance & Screening: * Strong understanding of or exposure to cGMP, GDP, or strict regulatory frameworks (FDA/DEA) is a plus.
- Must pass a background and driving record check. Note: Any major driving infractions (such as a DUI) within the last 3 to 5 years are an automatic disqualification.
- Attributes: An uncompromising eye for detail, a strong sense of urgency, and a "get-it-done" small-team mentality.
