In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and emergency medicine environments. Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting detailed medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient clinics or hospital settings
- Manage electronic health record (EPIC) systems efficiently to ensure accurate documentation of patient information and ICD coding for diagnoses
- Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support diagnosis and treatment plans
- Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining patient records
- Support emergency medicine teams in Level I or Level II trauma centers by assisting with rapid assessments and inpatient care processes
- We promote from within! Our MA's often grow into "MA-II" positions which is the Provider's assistant. We fill this role with an LPN or MA-II.
Experience
- Prior experience working in clinics, urgent care centers, or emergency departments is highly preferred
- Familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows and medical administrative support tasks is essential
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration enhances effectiveness in this role
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to ensure readiness for emergency situations
