About the Role
We are hiring experienced construction professionals to join our team as Petroleum Equipment / Tank Installers. You will install, remove, test, and inspect underground and aboveground fuel tank systems for commercial and industrial clients. Examples include emergency generator tanks at hospitals and schools, and fleet refueling systems for trucks and buses.
This is a hands-on role with daily variety, heavy equipment operation, piping, concrete work, and problem-solving in a regulated industry. Training is provided, and there is strong potential for career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Excavate tanks, piping, and trenches using excavators, skid steers, hand tools, and other equipment
- Install black steel piping (3/4" to 4"), rigid conduit, fiberglass, and flexible fuel-rated piping — including measuring, cutting, threading, and fitting
- Perform concrete and asphalt demolition, sub-base preparation, compaction, forming, rebar placement, and concrete pouring/finishing
- Pressure wash, power tool clean, coat, label, and sign tanks and piping systems
- Operate heavy equipment (skid steer, mini/large excavators, compaction equipment, breakers) and drive DOT trucks/trailers
- Use all standard hand/power tools safely and effectively while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Accurately document field activities and submit reports daily via app
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of construction field experience (plumbing, sprinkler, mechanical, or general construction trades are highly relevant)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean 3-year driving record
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly and work in various positions (kneeling, ladders, standing for extended periods)
- Strong mechanical aptitude, positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to safety
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required to complete pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical
Preferred (but not required):
- Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) or DC-DOEE Underground Storage Tank certifications
- OSHA certifications and other relevant construction safety training
- CDL Class A license
- Experience with skid steers, excavators, steel piping, concrete finishing, or welding/fabrication

- Competitive hourly pay with overtime (time and a half)
- Approximate annual earnings: $50,000 – $85,000+ depending on experience and certifications
- Full-time position with guaranteed 40 hours/week plus overtime

Schedule
Typical hours are 7:00 AM – 4:00/5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. All employees meet at our Owings Mills office each morning and return company vehicles at the end of the day. Most work is in Maryland and Washington, DC.
