We're looking for someone who can step in and own both purchase orders and day-to-day logistics. This role is a mix of order entry and freight coordination, with a heavy focus on full truckload (FTL) shipments. This is a great fit for someone who has worked in a truckload-heavy environment, is comfortable booking freight directly with carriers, and has experience negotiating rates.
What you'll be doing

Writing and managing purchase orders (ensuring pricing, specs, and details are accurate)

Coordinating truckload shipments (FTL) from start to finish

Booking freight, scheduling pickups/deliveries, and setting appointments

Negotiating freight rates with carriers and tracking cost changes

Managing multiple loads at once (typically 10-20+ per week)

Tracking shipments and handling delays, changes, or issues as they come up

Communicating updates with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams

Reviewing freight costs and monitoring rate trends

Handling BOLs, paperwork, and helping with claims or discrepancies

Keeping systems and spreadsheets up to date as orders change
What we're looking for (must-have)

Hands-on FTL / truckload experience (required)

Experience negotiating freight rates with carriers

Experience booking freight and working directly with carriers

Background in logistics, transportation, or supply chain

Strong attention to detail-you catch mistakes before they become problems

Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable with pricing, data, and Excel

Strong communication skills and ability to solve problems on the fly
