Position Overview
As a Dishwasher and Utility Cleaner, you ensure our culinary and service teams have the immaculate tools they need to succeed. You will manage the high-volume flow of fine crystal glassware, high-end plating, heavy cookware, and state-of-the-art kitchen equipment. This position requires strong physical stamina, a detail-oriented mindset, and a commitment to rigorous sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- High-Volume Dish Operation: Load, operate, and unload commercial dishwashing machines quickly and safely during high-volume dinner rushes.
- Luxury Care: Carefully hand-wash and sanitize delicate fine crystal wine stems, upscale porcelain plates, and specialty serving platters.
- Cookware Maintenance: Scrub, wash, and sanitize heavy kitchen cookware, including cast iron skillets, stainless steel pots, and chef knives.
- Organized Storage: Dry and meticulously restock clean dishes, silverware, and kitchen utensils in their designated locations using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) methods.
- Sanitation & Waste Management: Empty trash cans, manage recycling/compost bins, sweep and mop kitchen floors, and keep the dish pit completely clean and orderly.
- Chemical Safety: Handle commercial cleaning chemicals safely according to health codes and OSHA Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Previous experience as a dishwasher, steward, or cleaner in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and move quickly for 8–10 hours per shift, work in a wet and hot kitchen environment, and comfortably lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Team-First Mindset: Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with chefs, cooks, and front-of-house staff under pressure.
- Attention to Detail: A sharp eye to ensure that no dirty or spotted dishes ever make it back to the kitchen line or guest tables.
- Scheduling Flexibility: Full availability to work evenings, late nights, weekends, and major holidays.
