Overview
We seek a skilled general maintenance person who can also assist with irrigating and groundskeeping. The position is caring for a handful of residential buildings and grounds for a Bed and Breakfast. This can be a full time position or part time, and can include housing. This job could be filled by a couple with employment opportunities for the spouse. as well.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, small engine and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain facilities equipment such as lighting fixtures, doors, windows, and interior finishes through regular inspections and repairs.
- Oversee groundskeeping duties including landscaping, lawn care, tree trimming, snow removal, and outdoor cleaning to uphold the property's visual standards.
- Supervise or assist with projects involving carpentry, painting (residential painting included), and facility upgrades to enhance the property's appearance and functionality.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from residents or staff and communicating clearly about repair timelines or issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or groundskeeping roles within residential environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on skills in electrical work, plumbing system maintenance & repair, HVAC system troubleshooting & repair.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics reading devices (such as ohmmeters), and electrical testing instruments confidently.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management; experience with maintenance planning is preferred.
- Knowledge of building interior maintenance including carpentry skills and painting techniques—both general maintenance painting and residential painting are valuable.
- Supervisory experience is a plus for overseeing team members or contractors on various projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork.
- Valid certifications or training in electrical equipment repair plumbing systems maintenance & repair are highly desirable but not necessary.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
