Haven Homes | Kansas City Metro
Compensation: On Target Earnings $315,208+/year — salary plus commission Schedule: Full-Time Location:Kansas City metro — 80% in the field, 20% in office. Local. No storm chasing, no travel season, no living out of a hotel.
Here's the Deal.
If you're already making $150K+ a year in some kind of in-home or face-to-face sales, you already know the tradeoff: the money's good, but you're either chasing storms across three states, working for a company you don't love, or you've hit a ceiling where more effort doesn't mean more money anymore.
My name is Daniel. I run Haven Homes, a real estate acquisitions company in the Kansas City metro. We buy distressed, off-market properties directly from homeowners — foreclosures, probate, inherited houses, tired landlords. We generate real prospects every week, but the deals that actually close come from someone showing up, knocking, and closing in person. That's 80% of this role. The other 20% is calls and follow-up from the office.
This is a local job. You sleep in your own bed every night. No relocating for hail season, no chasing territory across the country to hit a number — and the earning potential here is higher than what most storm and travel crews are actually taking home once you account for the road. But local doesn't mean routine. Every house is a different story, a different seller, a different problem to solve — no two days look the same, and no script covers all of it.
If you're already a proven closer in solar, roofing, pest, alarm, windows, or any other in-home sales — you already have the exact skill set this role is built around. What you don't have is a way to make more money, staying local, while still getting the variety and adventure that made you good at this kind of work in the first place. This is that way.
If the idea of staying local, running your own schedule, working a different deal every day, and out-earning what you're making now — without the travel grind — sounds better than another season on the road, keep reading.
Who We Are
Haven Homes buys distressed, off-market residential properties across the Kansas City metro. We move fast, we don't tolerate excuses, and we take care of the people who produce. We've built the machine — marketing, systems, prospect flow. What's missing is enough hunters willing to get out of the car and knock. This is a growing company with a clear vision, and this role sits right at the center of that growth.
What You'll Own
- Door-knocking and working prospect lists in the field — this is the job, not a task on the side
- A different property, a different seller, and a different problem to solve every day — no two houses or negotiations play out the same
- Running in-person appointments at the kitchen table, on the porch, wherever the conversation happens
- Building rapport fast with homeowners in tough situations and negotiating win-win offers
- Following up relentlessly on prospects that go quiet — persistence in the field is what turns a knock into a signed contract
- A smaller slice of calls and follow-up from the office to keep your pipeline moving between field days
- Bringing creativity to deal structure — seller financing, subject-to, novations — when a straight cash offer doesn't work
- Managing your own schedule and territory like it's your own business
Who You Are
- Currently earning $150K+/year in some form of in-home or face-to-face sales — solar, roofing, pest, alarm, windows, or similar
- Tired of traveling for the work — storm chasing, seasonal territory, or living out of a hotel to hit your number
- Hitting a ceiling where you can't do anything more to make more money, or just don't like the company/industry you're in anymore
- Someone who craves variety and a bit of adventure in the day — every seller, every house, every negotiation is different, and that's what keeps it interesting
- Someone who wants to be out and about, not cooped up in an office — you'd rather be driving to the next door than sitting at a desk
- Disciplined and self-directed — nobody's watching you knock the next door, so you have to want it enough to knock it anyway
- Must put phrase "Blue M&ms" in application title or headline to be considered.
- Relentless and persistent — comfortable working a prospect for weeks, and comfortable getting told no at the door
- Someone who wants independence and flexibility in how they run their day, in exchange for the discipline to actually put in the work without supervision
- Sharp in person and creative when a deal isn't straightforward
