About the Role
We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to help evolve and modernize a highly customized enterprise ServiceNow environment. This hands-on engineering role requires deep platform expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to build scalable solutions within complex ServiceNow environments.
You will lead sophisticated development projects, shape platform architecture, and deliver high-impact enhancements. A key focus will be identifying opportunities to incorporate artificial intelligence into the ServiceNow platform and moving innovative ideas from proof of concept into production.
You will collaborate with business analysts, project managers, process owners, and technical stakeholders across multiple time zones. The development team includes resources based in India, requiring effective coordination while maintaining Eastern Time working hours.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of complex ServiceNow development projects and platform enhancements.
Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions within a highly customized enterprise environment.
Help evolve ServiceNow into an AI-enabled platform by identifying and implementing innovative capabilities.
Create proofs of concept for new ideas, integrations, and complex technical solutions.
Configure and customize business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, ACLs, and notifications.
Design and maintain ServiceNow architectures that are secure, highly available, and scalable.
Develop and support integrations using REST, SSO, SAML, LDAP, web services, JDBC, ODBC, FTP, and SFTP technologies.
Apply HTML, CSS, and AngularJS skills to develop and enhance user-facing platform functionality.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex ServiceNow platform, application, and integration issues.
Support release management activities, including update sets, deployments, and peer code reviews.
Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into clearly defined technical solutions.
Collaborate with project managers, process owners, and distributed technical teams across multiple time zones.
Provide technical guidance and contribute to continuous improvements in development standards and processes.
Required Skills
Seven or more years of professional experience as a ServiceNow Developer.
Seven or more years of software engineering experience.
Extensive hands-on experience with ServiceNow design and development.
Proven experience supporting a highly customized enterprise ServiceNow environment.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification.
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification.
In-depth knowledge and practical application of ITIL processes.
Strong experience with ITSM, ITOM, and CSM organizational structures.
Experience implementing Incident, Problem, Change, Service Catalog, and CMDB modules.
Experience working within a multi-domain ServiceNow structure.
Advanced ServiceNow customization experience using business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, ACLs, and notifications.
Strong knowledge of ServiceNow APIs and integration technologies.
Experience with SSO, SAML, SSL, web services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, and FTPS.
Development experience using HTML, CSS, and AngularJS.
Experience with release management, update sets, deployments, and peer code reviews.
Ability to design and manage secure, scalable ServiceNow architectures and integrations.
Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams while working Eastern Time hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience applying artificial intelligence within ServiceNow solutions.
AI-related training, certification, or accreditation.
Strong interest in developing and integrating AI-enabled platform capabilities.
Previous ServiceNow development leadership or management experience.
Experience guiding development teams and improving technical processes.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
