Responsibilities
- Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia for a variety of surgical and diagnostic procedures, ensuring precise dosing and monitoring.
- Conduct comprehensive preoperative patient assessments to determine appropriate anesthesia plans tailored to individual needs.
- Monitor vital signs, oxygenation, and patient responses throughout procedures, adjusting anesthesia levels as necessary for optimal safety.
- Manage airway patency and ventilation using advanced airway management techniques and medical equipment operation.
- Respond swiftly to cardiovascular emergencies such as cardiac arrest or respiratory distress, implementing life-saving interventions in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Document all anesthesia procedures accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and nursing policy standards.
- Maintain expertise in pain management techniques, including regional anesthesia and medication administration, to enhance patient comfort during recovery.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with current licensure in accordance with State Nursing Practice Acts.
- Proven critical care experience in settings such as ICU or emergency departments, demonstrating proficiency in patient assessment and emergency response.
- Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to anesthesiology.
- Hands-on experience with anesthesiology procedures including general anesthesia, regional blocks, airway management, and injection administration.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic for accurate medical documentation and patient monitoring records.
- Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention protocols and hospital safety standards including NCQA standards.
- Ability to respond effectively to cardiovascular emergencies like cardiac arrest or respiratory failure while maintaining patient safety measures at all times.
