Overview
Traxler Power & Equipment, Inc is growing our team. We are seeking 1-2 skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanics / Service Technicians to join us in our new building. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair, with a focus on diesel engines. We work on a variety of brands and types of farm machinery, semi-trucks and trailers, and outdoor power equipment.
Responsibilities
- Working on farming equipment, semi-trucks and trailers, outdoor power equipment, also combines and tracked vehicles
- Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing any defective parts
- Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work
- Use technical manuals for proper repair and service
- Diagnosing malfunctions or problems using a computerized system or testing equipment to determine the root cause of any issues
- Meeting with customers to explain problems and possible solutions
- Repair and maintenance of a/c and heating systems, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, transmission systems
- Keep records of repairs and servicing
- Test the machines after repairs
- Request or order supplies, parts, maintain inventory
- Preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns.
Qualifications
- Certification in diesel mechanics is preferred.
- Knowledge of farm equipment
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic/ service technician.
- Experience in parts lookup and ordering a plus
- Welding experience is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent computer skills
- Lifting up to 70 pounds
- Must have valid driver's license with a clear driving record, CDL helpful.
- Able to stand and be physically active the majority of the work day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $31.00 per hour
