Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Pastry Production Manager to lead our Mixing and Processing departments.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for producing thousands of bakery items each day while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency and food safety.
You will directly supervise two department leaders while helping guide an established production team of approximately seven employees. You'll work closely with ownership to improve recipes, develop new products and continuously elevate our bakery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the Mixing and Processing departments.
- Manage production schedules to ensure products are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain and protect all Scratch KC recipes, formulas and production standards.
- Ensure consistency in every batch produced.
- Develop new recipes and products alongside ownership.
- Scale recipes for commercial production while maintaining exceptional quality.
- Coach, train and develop production team members.
- Monitor ingredient inventories and collaborate on purchasing.
- Reduce waste and improve efficiencies without sacrificing quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized and food-safe production environment.
- Assist other production departments whenever needed.
- Lead by example through professionalism, teamwork and accountability.
Qualifications
- Commercial bakery or pastry production experience desired.
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of baker's percentages, formulas and recipe scaling.
- Experience working in high-volume bakery production.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
