Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Assistant to join our vibrant licensed family childcare team. Duties
- Supervise children during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with implementing age-appropriate curriculum focused on childhood development and early learning skills
- Support children with activities related to preschool, toddler care, infant care, and special education needs
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily experiences
- Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child safety or welfare
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and fostering social skills among children
- Administer basic first aid and pediatric first aid as needed to address minor injuries or health issues
- Collaborate with other staff to plan engaging activities that promote child development instruction
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations including child supervision standards and daycare center policies
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Experience involving child supervision, classroom management, and teaching young children
- Babysitting or nanny experience demonstrating responsibility for infant care, toddler care, or preschool-aged children
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid is desirable but training can be provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and teamwork within a childcare environment.
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Valid driver’s license
- Mandated Reporter certification
- Current background check and fingerprint clearance
- Must be able to provide proof of all required certifications and clearances
