Main responsibilities:
- Lead and champion customer service programs to meet or exceed store and division goals while fostering a culture of exceptional service.
- Oversee total store operations in the absence of the Store Director, directing employees and department managers as needed.
- Plan, organize, and manage daily operations of the Grocery Department, including dairy, frozen, liquor/beer, and merchandising activities.
- Monitor product quality, inventory levels, pricing accuracy, and compliance with sanitation, safety, and company standards.
- Supervise receiving, stocking, pricing, and merchandising of products, ensuring proper inventory management and shrink control.
- Hire, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate department employees while supporting development and succession planning.
- Analyze sales, labor, and financial performance, including profit and loss statements, to drive business results and achieve targets.
- Resolve customer and employee concerns, maintain strong vendor relationships, and ensure effective communication across teams.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and employment practices, reporting and addressing issues as needed.

- Knowledge :
- Knowledge of grocery retail operations and department functions
- Understanding of profit and loss statements and financial reporting
- Familiarity with merchandising, pricing, and promotional strategies
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (state and federal)
- Basic math, accounting, and computer system knowledge
- Abilities :
- Ability to lead and manage teams effectively across multiple departments
- Ability to identify business needs and implement short- and long-term plans
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic retail environment
- Ability to perform both managerial and occasional manual tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods
- Ability to respond to emergency situations and operational disruptions
- Educational requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Relevant retail management experience strongly preferred
- Travel requirements: Occasional travel, including overnight travel, may be required
- Other requirements:
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Regular attendance required
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions (e.g., freezers, coolers, and heated areas)
- Must comply with company grooming, dress code, and safety standards
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and company information
