Your Main Tasks:
- Carrying out the installation and maintenance of Evatec coating equipment and/or retrofits on-site at our client location in Hillsboro, Oregon and/or to other Evatec client locations around North America
- Troubleshooting and repairing our equipment as needed
- Tracking and reporting equipment performance
- Providing recommendations, development, and execution of action plans to optimize the availability and performance of our equipment
- Providing technical support and advice for our customers
- Acting as interface between Evatec management and our customers
- Expediently escalating issues to supporting resources when necessary.
- Working with technical support, customer & field engineers in isolating and solving problems
- Provides on-site and remote software support, including troubleshooting, configuration, upgrades, and updates
- Assist PLC‑level support for Evatec equipment, including diagnostics, I/O verification, PLC software upgrades, and troubleshooting of fieldbus and serial interfaces such as PROFIBUS, PROFINET, and RS‑232/485
- Answering customers’ questions and assisting them in a professional manner
- Performing administrative and coordination duties, including pass-downs, work orders, field service reports, system problem reports, and monthly reports
- While not traveling, provide local onsite customer support or in office hotline support and manage assigned cases, ensuring timely follow‑up and resolution
- Travel based on projects and customer needs, up to 50% in average
Your Profile:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of vacuum coating equipment & technology preferred, PVD, PECVD, PEALD or Etch
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics and vacuum processes
- Proficient in navigating and troubleshooting software on modern operating systems
- Verbal and written language skills in English. Language skills in German and/or Spanish is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and expectations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Ability to train, mentor, and share know‑how with peers and customer personnel

- This position is based in Hillsboro, OR. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Hillsboro or reside within a reasonable commuting distance.

- This role requires up to 50% travel in average based on business needs, including international travel, to complete training on Evatec products and processes. While performing the duties of this role, the employee routinely is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds in weight unaided.
- This is a full‑time hourly position with eligibility for overtime pay.
- Work is frequently conducted at a customer site and requires adherence with customer rules and policies regarding worksite behavior and safety.
- Expect to spend more than 50% of the time inside the clean room working with Evatec equipment.
- Position works under the direction of the Customer Service Manager
- Valid Passport, Driver's License and Credit Card are required.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
