Job Summary

Duties
- Assist with food preparation by slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety protocols
- Operate basic kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas in accordance with health regulations
- Support meal assembly and presentation for various dining services or catering events
- Follow strict food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, communicate effectively about menu needs, and ensure smooth operations
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels or shortages
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and handling procedures
- Catering large quantity food experience and capacity
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques including slicing, cooking, and recipe adherence
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation in a fast-paced environment such as restaurants or catering services
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely while maintaining safety standards in production
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members
- Familiarity with culinary techniques such as knife skills, slicing techniques, and food industry best practices
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols to uphold sanitation standards in the kitchen environment
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is advantageous but not mandatory
