Responsibilities
- Safely operate a refrigerated box truck on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight to designated locations
- Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules efficiently
- Load and unload cargo with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of freight including hazardous materials when applicable
- Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and hazardous materials regulations during all operations
- Transport various types of freight such as freight containers, hazardous goods, or specialty cargo like tanker or flatbed loads when required
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure safety standards are maintained and report any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in line with company policies
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, or tractor-trailers preferred
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading procedures, and manual transmission operation
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance standards
- Ability to handle manual tasks related to load & unload processes safely and efficiently
- Strong route planning skills using GPS navigation systems for optimal delivery performance
- Excellent driving skills with experience in over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and route driving logistics
