Outside Sales Representative – Commercial Truck & Van Upfitting
Phoenix, AZ | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Starting Base: $70,000/year + Uncapped Commission + Incentive Bonus
Drake Truck Bodies is growing, and we are looking for an Outside Sales Representative who wants to build a book of business in the Phoenix metro market.
This is a field-based sales role for someone who enjoys getting in front of customers, opening doors, and building long-term commercial relationships. The right person will be comfortable prospecting, visiting customers in person, following up consistently, and helping customers find the right truck and van upfitting solutions for their business.
Drake provides truck and van accessories, custom upfits, service bodies, flatbeds, specialty equipment, and professional installation for contractors, fleet operators, municipalities, and commercial customers across Arizona.
About the role
This position is focused on new business development and account growth. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building relationships with commercial customers, and managing opportunities from the first conversation through quote, order, installation, and delivery.
This is not a sit-behind-a-desk sales role. It is built for someone who likes being out in the field, meeting customers face-to-face, and developing a territory over time.
What you will be doing
- Prospect and develop new commercial accounts across the Phoenix metro area
- Visit customers in person and build relationships with contractors, fleet accounts, dealers, municipalities, and commercial clients
- Make outbound calls, follow up on leads, and set appointments
- Have consultative sales conversations to understand customer needs, timelines, and specifications
- Prepare and manage quotes, opportunities, and sales orders using CRM and ERP systems
- Follow up on open quotes and keep the pipeline moving
- Coordinate with vendors, operations, and internal teams to make sure orders are accurate and executed properly
- Keep customers updated from initial contact through installation and delivery
- Support sales reporting, forecasting, and KPI tracking
What we are looking for
- Proven outside sales or B2B sales experience in the automotive or manufaturing industry
- Strong prospecting and follow-up habits
- Comfortable building new accounts from the ground up
- Experience selling to commercial customers, contractors, fleets, equipment users, or similar industries is preferred
- Comfortable using CRM systems; HubSpot experience is a plus
- Mechanical curiosity or interest in trucks, vans, accessories, equipment, or fabrication
- Organized, self-motivated, and accountable
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for sales activity
Compensation
- Starting base salary: $70,000/year
- Uncapped commission
