The Utility Locator I / Utility Locator II, performs under limited supervision to respond to transmissions from North Carolina 811 by contacting excavators to identify, locate, and mark the location of natural gas, electric, water, and sewer underground facilities, thereby minimizing damage, injury, and interruption of service. May perform
support/back-up duties for other utility areas including meter services, flagging, and warehouse.

Minimum Qualifications
Utility Locator I
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of
employment and good driving record
Utility Locator II
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Three years of experience locating in the areas of natural gas, electric, water, or sewer
- Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
On-call rotation required. Paid bi-weekly.
