Overview
Superior Driving Institute is seeking a knowledgeable and professional CDL Instructor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving and a passion for teaching others. This role is essential in preparing students for success in the transportation industry by delivering high-quality instruction in both the classroom and behind the wheel.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am-3pm
Duties
- Instruct students in classroom and on-the-road settings in accordance with FMCSA and school guidelines.
- Demonstrate and explain proper vehicle inspection procedures, safety protocols, and road skills.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to support skill development.
- Maintain training records, attendance logs, and student progress reports accurately.
- Ensure that training vehicles are operated and maintained in a safe and professional condition.
- Uphold a positive and respectful learning environment that supports student success.
- Collaborate with other instructors and school leadership to continually improve curriculum and training methods.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid CDL Class A license.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience required.
- Prior instructional or mentorship experience in a professional setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and current industry best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide and motivate adult learners.
