Are you an experienced freight forwarding professional who thrives in a fast-paced, international logistics environment? Our client, a well-established global freight forwarding organization, is seeking an Import Operations Coordinator to join their growing team in College Park, GA.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected industry leader where you'll have ownership of customer accounts, collaborate with international partners, and play a critical role in ensuring seamless import operations from origin to final delivery.

As the Import Operations Coordinator, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for import customers and manage the end-to-end import process while delivering exceptional service.

Manage import shipments from booking through final delivery

Coordinate transportation, customs clearance, and documentation requirements

Communicate with customs brokers, trucking providers, airlines, steamship lines, and freight partners

Negotiate rates and coordinate shipment bookings when applicable

Process and distribute Bills of Lading, collect charges, and shipment documentation

Generate delivery orders and arrange transportation services

Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, billing, and collections activities

Monitor shipment status, perform shipment tracing, and proactively resolve delivery issues

Provide outstanding customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and shipment updates

Build strong relationships with customers and logistics partners through professional communication

Maintain accurate shipment records within CargoWise and other transportation management systems

2+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, import operations, or logistics coordination

Hands-on experience managing import shipments and customs documentation

Proficiency with CargoWise One (required)

Strong working knowledge of international transportation carriers, routing, and logistics networks

Experience working within a paperless, TMS-driven environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Strong understanding of customs clearance procedures and import compliance requirements

Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
