About This Role
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Afternoon Teacher Assistant / Closer. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a seamless transition for our children and families at the end of the day.
This is a part-time position that requires a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, with no weekend hours. The ideal candidate will work afternoons from 2:30pm until our closing time at 5:30pm.
What You'll Do
Classroom Transition: Effectively relieve the full-time lead teacher at the end of their shift, maintaining a smooth transition for the children.
Daily Schedule Execution: Continue the afternoon routine, which includes scheduled activities, outdoor play, and afternoon snacks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for the children.
Parent Communication: Greet parents warmly during evening pick-ups and provide a brief, positive update on their child’s day, helping to build strong relationships between parents and our team.
Closing Duties: Ensure the classroom is left tidy, organized, and properly sanitized at the end of the day, following standard closing procedures to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
Requirements
Experience: While prior experience working with young children (six weeks to five years old) in a licensed childcare facility, camp, or structured setting is highly preferred, it is not a requirement.
Reliability: Outstanding attendance and punctuality are essential, as our full-time staff and families depend on this role for a smooth end-of-day transition.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for interacting positively with children, parents, and administrative staff.
Requirements: The successful candidate must be able to pass a background check and meet all state regulatory requirements for childcare personnel.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience with subsidy or special needs children. If you have a passion for working with children and families, we encourage you to apply!
