Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional customer service
- Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and reduce wait times
- Answer phone inquiries with clear communication, providing accurate information about wait times and reservation details
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate effectively with guests about their status
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Support the team by handling guest inquiries, special requests, and ensuring a positive first impression
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Excellent customer service and guest relations skills with a friendly demeanor
- Effective phone communication skills with proper phone etiquette
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, wait times, and seating calculations
- Familiarity with restaurant table management systems and POS systems
- Ability to stay organized, multitask efficiently, and handle high-pressure situations calmly
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management
