American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring PICC line management and IV start experience.

Night shift position with a 6:45 PM start time, working 3x12-hour shifts
-
23-bed Medical Surgical unit within a 562-bed acute care hospital
-
Floating is required for all travelers, both within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Block scheduling may be available — connect with the manager to discuss schedule requests
-
Cerner used for charting (experience preferred)
-
Active IL RN license required, or must be actively in the application process with an ETA
-
Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required — AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted

Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required

PICC line management experience required
-
IV start experience required

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Cerner EMR experience preferred

SSN and DOB required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction

Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler

Travel pairs are not accepted

RTO of up to 5 days is ideally requested; anything beyond that requires facility approval

Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Parking is available at no cost via a permit obtained during orientation
