Remote Audit Senior – Public Accounting - Florida based candidates
We are recruiting an Audit Senior for an established mid-size public accounting firm, to join its growing, fully remote team in Florida.
The firm is an established specialist practice with a national client base and is continuing to expand its presence in Florida, making this an excellent opportunity to join at an exciting stage of growth and play a part in building and developing the firm's presence in the state.
The firm's primary focus is the community association (CIRA) industry, including HOAs, condominiums and co-ops. Previous CIRA experience is strongly preferred but not required. The firm is also particularly interested in auditors from high-volume backgrounds including nonprofit/Single Audit, Yellow Book/governmental and Employee Benefit Plan (EBP/ERISA) audits.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute audit engagements from planning through completion.
- Perform audit fieldwork and prepare high-quality workpapers and financial statements.
- Manage multiple audit engagements and deadlines concurrently.
- Identify audit issues and communicate findings clearly to managers and clients.
- Review the work of junior audit staff and provide guidance where required.
- Assist with coaching and developing junior team members.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Work collaboratively with remote and offshore team members to ensure engagements are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Support Audit Managers and senior leadership with the successful delivery of engagements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 3+ years of public accounting audit experience.
- Current/recent Audit Senior experience within public accounting.
- Experience working across multiple audit engagements concurrently.
- Strong experience preparing audit workpapers and financial statements.
- Experience reviewing or supervising junior audit staff.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and applicable auditing standards.
- CIRA/community association experience (HOAs, condominiums or co-ops) strongly preferred, but not required.
- Strong adjacent backgrounds including nonprofit/Single Audit, Yellow Book/governmental and EBP/ERISA audits will also be considered.
- Experience working with offshore or outsourced teams would be advantageous.
- CPA or progress toward CPA qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organizational, communication and client-service skills.
