Butler Parachute Systems, Inc. located in Roanoke, VA is looking for a highly motivated individual seeking an opportunity to be a part of an organization that specializes in life saving devices for our commercial and military partners. Since 1979, Butler Parachutes has been a global leading manufacturer in the Parachute Industry. As a growing business, we are seeking a Material Coordinator to help oversee the large growth in incoming raw materials. In this role, you will help develop and apply strong organizational systems that allow for traceability of all materials and corresponding documentation. This will lead to Production having the materials they need at the right time, eliminating bottlenecks in the Production process and creating a more robust manufacturing program.
Job Summary:
The Material Coordinator handles and controls raw materials including dispensing and sampling operations. Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials to production and ensuring the correct inventory levels are maintained. Additional duties include receiving goods from suppliers, full circle material documentation, raw material sampling, inventory control, dispensing, packaging and labeling of finished product. Prepares and maintains documentation for all internal and external transactions on computer and within Butler’s filing system. They perform all duties as outlined in QSM and Operating Procedures
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for providing accurate and complete documentation as per Butler QSM & Operating Procedures associated with production and materials management duties.
- Ensures proper receipt of all incoming materials acquired via purchase orders. Confirms material received matches the P.O and processes the receipt transactions.
- Interacts with Purchasing and Accounting personnel to resolve receipt and/or invoice discrepancies; coordinates and competes Return to Vendor transactions.
- Performs required dispensing operations according to the Order Log and what is determined to be late, early, and/or on-time.
- Formulates and stocks the proper levels of gowning material demands for Production, along with issues and transports raw materials and components for batch manufacturing.
- Coordinates inventory control of all raw materials, components, and documentation used in production with Quality Assurance.
- Operates material handling equipment in the movement and storage of materials.
- Coordinates material and product transfer requirements directly with production personnel.
- Performs routine inventories, evaluates variance reports, investigates discrepancies and recommends corrective actions.
- Reviews inventory for potential expired, scrap or obsolete material.
- Performs various inventory transactions in the database. Responsible for supporting complete and accurate inventory transactions, documentation, and files.
- Maintains clean, organized and safe work area.
- Investigates quality events as necessary or as instructed by leadership.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, vendors, and customers to support company-related initiatives.
- Provides recommendations to leadership regarding improved procedures.
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
