Field Operations Manager
CHETS Tree Service — Thurston County, WA
Full-Time | $25 per hour
CHETS Tree Service is hiring a dependable, hardworking Field Operations Manager to work directly alongside the owner.
This is a hands-on position. Initially, much of the job will involve physical ground work while learning how CHETS operates. Responsibilities will include dragging brush, feeding the chipper, moving logs and debris, assisting with equipment, maintaining an organized work area, and completing thorough jobsite cleanup.
Over the first several months, the owner will provide hands-on training in estimating, customer communication, scheduling, job planning, and the day-to-day operation of the business. As knowledge and experience grow, estimating and management responsibilities will become a larger part of the position.
Responsibilities
- Drag brush, move logs and process tree debris
- Assist with chipping, loading, hauling and cleanup
- Help prepare and maintain tools, trucks and equipment
- Work safely around tree work, chainsaws, chippers and heavy equipment
- Keep jobsites clean, organized and professional
- Learn how to inspect properties and determine job requirements
- Learn to prepare accurate estimates and scopes of work
- Communicate professionally with residential and commercial customers
- Assist with scheduling, job planning and daily field operations
- Help ensure each job is completed safely, efficiently and to CHETS standards
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Dependable, punctual and hardworking
- Physically capable of demanding outdoor labor
- Comfortable working in changing weather and on uneven terrain
- Willing to learn both the physical work and business operations
- Professional when communicating with customers
- Able to follow directions, take initiative and work independently
- Tree service, landscaping, construction or equipment experience is helpful but not required
This position is ideal for someone who is not afraid of hard physical work but also has the communication skills, judgment and ambition to take on estimating and operational responsibilities as they learn the business.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
