Position Overview
The Packaging Operator is responsible for overseeing and executing all packaging operations to ensure products are packaged efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. This role includes ownership of packaging processes, reporting, preventative maintenance, and inventory management of daily consumables. The Packaging Lead will manage day-to-day operations, delegate responsibilities as needed, and work closely with the Head Brewer/Quality Manager.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Packaging Operations
- Maintain weekly Packaging whiteboard with schedules, preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, CO₂ concentrations, and inventory counts.
- Operate packaging lines (kegging, bottling, canning, transferring) to ensure safe, precise, and high-quality treatment of beer.
- Troubleshoot packaging issues and communicate needs with supervisors.
- Follow finalized packaging calculators in Ekos as provided by the Sales Manager.
- Complete reporting metrics, including FV placards, loss calculations, and packaging logs.
- Perform Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and seam quality checks for each run.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all packaging equipment, kegs, lines, and work areas.
- Collaborate with Head Brewer to update Packaging SOPs as processes evolve.
Preventative Maintenance
- Manage all preventative maintenance databases and share metrics weekly with the Head Brewer/Quality Manager.
- Ensure upkeep of major packaging machinery to minimize downtime and maintain reliability.
Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain inventory of packaging raw materials (kegs, cans, lids, labels, CO₂, ink, boxes/flats, bottles, crowns, corks/cages).
- Manage spare parts and maintenance materials for packaging equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
