We are seeking a detail-oriented Grinder / Deburr Operator to ensure our precision parts meet flawless surface finish requirements before final assembly and coating. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Key Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Perform high-quality grinding, sanding, blending, and deburring on a variety of sheet metal components and multi-bend custom enclosures. [1, 2, 3]
- Finishing Operations: Smooth out weld joints, remove burrs, sharp edges, and spatter from aluminum, stainless steel, and steel parts. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools including pneumatic grinders, belt sanders, orbital sanders, and stationary deburring machinery. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Blueprint Reading: Review fabrication drawings and routing sheets to determine the required surface finish specifications and grain directions. [1]
- Quality Control: Visually and physically inspect parts to ensure consistent cosmetics, smooth transitions, and total compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, and move for long periods of time in a production environment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise hand-finishing work. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in grinding, deburring, and surface finishing within a precision sheet metal shop.
- Familiarity with different finishing abrasives, grit sequences, and metal types (aluminum, stainless, cold-rolled steel).
- Strong attention to cosmetic detail and consistency.
