Communications and Marketing Manager
Reports To: Head of School
Position Overview
Marshall School seeks a creative, strategic, and relationship-driven Communications and Marketing Manager to help tell the story of one of the region's most distinctive K-12 schools.
This role leads the school's marketing, communications, and storytelling efforts to support enrollment growth, strengthen community engagement, and elevate Marshall's visibility locally, nationally, and internationally.
Working closely with enrollment, advancement, faculty, students, and school leadership, the Communications and Marketing Manager will create compelling content and campaigns that showcase the transformative power of a Marshall education.

Primary ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Enrollment
- Develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives that support enrollment growth and student retention.
- Partner with the Enrollment Team to attract prospective day and boarding families locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Manage digital marketing campaigns, email marketing, social media advertising, and enrollment communications.
- Track campaign performance and use data to improve results and inform future strategy.
- Oversee and manage part time Social Media & Visual Content Specialist to tell stories about daily life at Marshall School.
Communications & Storytelling
- Serve as a steward of Marshall's brand, voice, and messaging.
- Create engaging content for print, digital, video, web, and social media platforms.
- Manage website content, newsletters, publications, and marketing collateral.
- Capture and share stories that highlight student achievement, faculty excellence, alumni success, and community impact.
Public Relations & Community Engagement
- Serve as the school's primary media and public relations contact.
- Write press releases and cultivate relationships with local and regional media.
- Support school leadership with key communications and messaging.
- Represent Marshall at community events and strengthen relationships with local organizations and partners.
- Support major school events and enrollment activities.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be:
- An exceptional writer, editor, and storyteller.
- Skilled in modern digital marketing strategy and execution.
- Experienced in social media, content creation, website management, and digital advertising.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while collaborating with Enrollment, Development, Staff, Faculty, and Head of School.
- Warm, welcoming, and energized by building relationships.
- Entrepreneurial, creative, and willing to bring new ideas to the table.
- Passionate about education and committed to advancing Marshall's mission.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
- Three to five years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with digital marketing platforms, content management systems, AI generative tools, and marketing analytics.
- Experience with photography, videography, and multimedia storytelling preferred.
- Experience in education, independent schools, higher education, non-profit, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
- Knowledge of crisis communications planning and response is desirable.
- Experience in internal communication with staff and families desired.
- Experience in managing MarCom budget, external vendors and partners
- Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends in support of school events.
The target salary for this position is $62,000-$72,000 per year.
On-site preferred. Remote work will be considered.
