Job Title: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) – K–12

Schedule: School Year Calendar (Monday–Friday)
Reports To: Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students across K–12 settings in the Chehalis, Washington area. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to implement speech and language services, helping students improve communication skills that are essential for academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct therapy services to students as directed by the supervising SLP

Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment goals

Assist in preparing therapy materials and activities tailored to student needs

Track and document student progress and performance data

Support classroom carryover strategies and collaborate with teachers and staff

Maintain accurate and timely service logs and documentation

Assist in screenings and observations (as directed by SLP)

Help maintain a positive, structured, and engaging therapy environment

Adhere to district policies, state regulations, and ethical standards
Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field

Valid Washington State SLPA license (or eligibility to obtain)

Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting preferred

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge of IEP processes and school-based therapy practices is a plus
Preferred Skills

Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices

Familiarity with a wide range of speech-language disorders

Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required
