Project Manager / Field Technician
BrightVault, Inc. Denver, CO
About BrightVault
BrightVault designs and installs premium whole-home battery energy storage systems (ESS) for high-end residential clients, built on the Sol-Ark inverter platform with LFP battery chemistry and our proprietary software and load management. Our projects span luxury mountain and urban markets, delivering resilient, code-compliant backup power systems tailored to complex homes.
About the Role
We're hiring a Project Manager / Field Technician to own residential ESS installations from kickoff through commissioning. This is a hybrid role: part project coordination, part hands-on technical execution. You'll manage timelines, vendors, and client communication while also being comfortable building load-control panels, running wiring, and commissioning systems on-site. A significant portion of your time will be spent designing and assembling our custom LCMP (Load Control Management Panel) systems that form the backbone of each installation.
Responsibilities
- Manage residential battery/inverter installation projects end-to-end: scheduling, budgeting, vendor and subcontractor coordination
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, builders, and general contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Design, build, and assemble LCMP (Load Control Management Panel) systems, including control panel layout and panel wiring per BrightVault specifications and NEC standards
- Perform or oversee on-site technical work: battery and inverter installation, LCMP panel installation, wiring, load center/panel integration, and system commissioning
- Coordinate with contractors, electricians, generator installers, and other trades on complex whole-home electrical projects
- Track project status, flag risks/delays early, and keep internal and client-facing documentation current
- Support runtime scenario planning and system sizing conversations with clients and builders
- Ensure work complies with NEC and local jurisdictional requirements; coordinate with engineering/compliance staff on permitting needs
- Manage equipment logistics, punch lists, and final walkthroughs
Ideal Qualifications
- 3+ years in residential electrical, solar, or battery storage installation, project management, or a related trade
- Demonstrated experience designing and building electrical control panels (relays, circuit layout, wiring, integration testing) Our platforms are based on Phoenix Contactor Automation equipment.
- Working knowledge of battery ESS systems, inverters (Sol-Ark experience a plus), and residential electrical systems
- Strong grasp of NEC and NFPA code in regards to residental energy storage requirements.
- Comfortable both running a project schedule and picking up tools on-site
- Strong communication skills — you'll be client-facing as often as you're in the field
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel to project sites across Colorado (mountain-market travel required)
- Experience in 2D Drafting (AutoCad) is a strong plus.
What Success Looks Like
Projects stay on schedule, clients feel informed and confident throughout, and systems are installed to spec and pass inspection the first time.
