Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely while applying cleaning solutions, disinfectants, and floor care products in accordance with safety protocols.
- Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of furniture, cleaning supplies, and equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by sanitizing surfaces, trash removal, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Operate cleaning machinery including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet extractors to ensure floors are spotless and well-maintained.
- Follow safety procedures diligently during all custodial activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Support facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to client requests or concerns related to cleanliness or facility upkeep.
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings with familiarity in commercial cleaning procedures.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor buffing, sanitation practices, and chemical handling safety procedures.
- Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners is preferred.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while practicing safe lifting techniques.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety compliance.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time efficiently in a part-time schedule.
