Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of computer-controlled machining equipment to produce precision parts and components. Your expertise in CNC programming, machine operation, and blueprint reading will ensure the efficient and accurate fabrication of products that meet stringent quality standards. Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other industrial equipment to produce high-quality components.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise machining.
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and adjust parameters for optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of CNC equipment to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality specifications.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse handling equipment; manage materials flow efficiently within the manufacturing facility.
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout the machining process to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machine settings, production logs, and inspection reports for traceability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling adjustments, fabrication improvements, and process optimization.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols in accordance with industry standards during all operations.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and press brake machines within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial automation systems.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and mechanical blueprint analysis.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks for part design review and tooling development.
- Hands-on experience with CAM programming for toolpath generation and optimization.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues on industrial equipment efficiently.
- Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience emphasizing safety standards in production environments.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, fabrication techniques including welding when necessary, and materials handling procedures.
- Basic math skills including calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machining parameters.
- Experience working on assembly lines or within packaging operations is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance using precision measuring instruments.
