About the Firm
Slowik Estate Planning is a growing boutique firm in Sandy Springs serving high-net-worth individuals and families across metro Atlanta. Our work spans foundational planning (revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney) through sophisticated tax and asset protection strategies—irrevocable gifting trusts, ILITs, SLATs, charitable trusts, and domestic asset protection planning. We're referral-driven, working closely with wealth managers and financial advisors, and our clients expect white-glove service.
We're a small team with big standards, and we're growing fast. This is a chance to be a key hire at a firm where your work directly shapes the client experience—not one of thirty paralegals in a document mill.
The Role
You'll be the operational backbone of the practice. You'll own the client experience from intake through trust funding completion, working directly with the attorney on every matter. Your responsibilities will include:
-Client intake and onboarding—managing new client inquiries, engagement letters, questionnaires, and document collection
-Document drafting—preparing first drafts of revocable trusts, pour-over wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives in WealthCounsel; assisting with complex instruments (ILITs, charitable trusts, gifting trusts) under attorney supervision
-Trust funding—preparing deeds, transfer letters, and beneficiary designation changes; managing the follow-up pipeline with financial institutions until every asset is retitled
-Probate and trust administration support—Georgia probate filings, asset inventories, coordination with CPAs
-Practice management— running our Clio workflows, maintaining organized digital files, managing the master calendar, tracking deadlines, and keeping our referral partners updated on shared client matters
-Client communication—serving as the friendly, responsive first point of contact for routine client questions
Who We're Looking For
Experience matters less to us than work ethic, attention to detail, and genuine care for clients. We will train the right person. That said, here's the profile:
Required:
- 2+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience (estate planning preferred, but we'll consider other backgrounds)
- Exceptional organization and follow-through—this job is won or lost on whether things fall through the cracks
- Strong written communication; you'll draft client emails and correspondence daily
- Comfort with technology and willingness to master Clio and WealthCounsel
- Professionalism with sophisticated clients and their financial advisors
Nice to have:
- WealthCounsel or other document assembly experience
- Georgia court experience
- Trust funding experience (retitling accounts, recording deeds)
- Paralegal certificate or degree
Why This Role
- Direct mentorship from the attorney—you'll learn sophisticated estate planning most paralegals never see
- Real ownership and autonomy once trained, not micromanagement
- Growth path: as the firm grows, so does your role and compensation
- Small-firm culture: no bureaucracy, no billable-hour pressure games, no office politics
- Modern systems: cloud-based practice management, established workflows, organized templates
How to Apply
Submit your resume along with a brief cover note (a paragraph is fine) answering one question: describe a time you built or improved a system or process that made your work more reliable. Applications without this note will not be considered.
We review applications on a rolling basis and move quickly for strong candidates.
