Summary
The Fordy Group are partnering with a leading heavy civil construction contractor to recruit a Regional Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to oversee operations throughout Texas and Louisiana. This leadership role is responsible for driving the regional EHS strategy, leading a team of safety professionals, and partnering with operations to deliver industry-leading safety performance across multiple construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic EHS leadership across all operations within the Texas and Louisiana region.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Regional, Area, and Project EHS professionals.
- Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture across all business units and project teams.
- Partner with operational leadership to ensure safety remains a core value throughout project planning and execution.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA requirements.
- Monitor regional safety performance using leading and lagging indicators to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular field visits to observe operations, coach teams, and reinforce safe work practices.
- Lead serious incident investigations, oversee corrective actions, and share lessons learned across the region.
- Develop and implement regional safety initiatives, training programs, and best practices.
- Standardize EHS processes and procedures across multiple offices and project locations.
- Support business units with risk assessments, pre-construction planning, and client safety requirements.
- Prepare and present regional safety performance metrics to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of construction safety experience, including experience supporting multiple projects or business units.
- Previous experience leading and developing EHS professionals across multiple locations.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
- OSHA 500 certification preferred.
- CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with operations leadership and drive a proactive safety culture.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout Texas and Louisiana.

Pay: $170,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
