The PD Team Leader is responsible for managing assigned production lines on the PD floor to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved. This role focuses on meeting daily production targets, maintaining required UPH (Units Per Hour), enforcing 5S standards, and leading team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Oversee daily operations of assigned production lines.
Ensure daily production targets are met or exceeded.
Monitor and maintain required UPH (Units Per Hour) standards.
Track hourly production performance and adjust manpower as needed.
Minimize downtime and escalate mechanical or process issues promptly.
Complete and report hourly and daily production metrics.
Ensure production schedules are followed according to customer demand.
Analyze production gaps and implement corrective actions to recover lost time.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Materials to avoid disruptions.
Drive team accountability to achieve shift goals.
Support overtime or shift adjustments when required to meet targets.
Supervise and support production associates on assigned lines.
Assign work and ensure adherence to standardized work instructions.
Train and cross-train employees to maintain flexibility and efficiency.
Promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
Enforce company policies and attendance standards.
Maintain and enforce 5S standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
Conduct regular 5S audits within assigned areas.
Ensure workstations are clean, organized, and efficient to support target UPH.
Lead by example in sustaining workplace discipline.
Ensure parts meet all quality specifications and customer requirements.
Immediately address defects or quality concerns.
Enforce safety procedures and proper PPE usage.
Participate in safety audits and corrective action processes.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and increase UPH.
Support Lean manufacturing initiatives.
Participate in Kaizen and cost-reduction activities.
Recommend process improvements to enhance productivity.
High School Diploma or GED required.
2+ years of manufacturing experience.
Prior team lead experience preferred.
Understanding of production metrics including UPH.
Knowledge of 5S principles required.
Basic computer and reporting skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. as required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
