Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and vigilant Part-Time Security Officer to manage access control at our logistics and truck yard in Ocala, FL. This role is perfect for someone looking for a stable, consistent 2-day schedule with the flexibility to easily pick up extra hours.
You will serve as the primary gatekeeper of the facility, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing trailer traffic is accurately documented and that the perimeter remains secure.
Key Responsibilities
- Gate Control & Logistics: Log all incoming and outgoing tractors and trailers. Verify trailer numbers, seal numbers, and shipping documentation.
- Access Control: Greet and verify the identity of drivers, visitors, and employees entering the facility.
- Patrols: Conduct periodic patrols of the truck yard to check for unlocked trailers, security breaches, or safety hazards.
- Incident Reporting: Maintain a clear, legible daily shift log and write detailed reports of any security incidents or suspicious activity.
Qualifications & Requirements
- License: Must possess a valid, active Florida Class D Security License.
- Experience: Previous security experience is preferred, particularly in a truck yard, logistics center, or industrial environment.
- Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to read and record long alphanumeric codes (trailer and seal numbers) accurately.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and work in outdoor Florida weather conditions as required by the yard layout.
