Position Summary / Purpose
As a Mitigation Technician at GCS, you will be on the front lines of helping clients recover from unexpected property damage. Responding quickly to emergency situations, you will assess losses, perform mitigation services, and implement effective restoration strategies to minimize damage caused by water, fire, mold, and other property-related disasters.
This postion plays a critical role in protecting homes and businesses, preventing further damage, and restoring our clients' peace of mind during challenging times. Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls involving water, flood, fire, or storm damage to assess the scope of work needed.
- Perform water extraction, drying, cleaning, and mold remediation using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Operate company vehicles safely to transport equipment and team members to job sites.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respiratory protection and safety gear to maintain a safe working environment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other restoration equipment to execute mitigation tasks efficiently.
- Conduct cleaning tasks including, debris removal, and mold remediation following protocols.
- Assist with fire/mold restoration efforts adhering strictly to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including photos, reports, and estimates for insurance claims.
- Follow all safety protocols during operations to ensure personal safety and that of team members.
- Support water restoration projects by managing moisture levels and preventing mold growth through proper drying techniques.
- Engage in on-call coverage as needed to ensure rapid response during emergencies or after-hours incidents.
Requirements
- Prior experience in restoration industry work such as water damage restoration, flood or mold remediation is highly preferred.
- IICRC certifications are a plus.
- Construction experience or familiarity with building materials and structural assessments is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients during stressful situations.
- Knowledge of safety protocols including PPE use, respiratory protection..
- Ability to operate company vehicles responsibly following all traffic laws and safety standards.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Willingness to participate in emergency response readiness and on-call coverage schedules.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and perform strenuous tasks safely.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred; certification in restoration or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
