Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team and drive the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex fiber optic and telecommunications networks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on diverse projects involving heavy equipment operation, fiber splicing, and network infrastructure deployment. Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables, telecommunications network cables, and related infrastructure in outdoor settings.
- Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, cranes, and power tools safely in accordance with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards.
- Use diagnostic tools and telecommunications testing equipment to identify issues within fiber optic networks and telecommunication systems.
- Perform telecommunications cable splicing, fiber splicing, and network testing to ensure optimal performance of fiber optic systems.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans for telecommunications outside plant operations.
- Conduct climbing activities safely while working on poles or structures for telecommunication or electrical work.
- Support technical troubleshooting efforts for complex fiber optic networks, including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, and telephony systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience in field service roles involving heavy equipment operation, outdoor work, and telecommunications installation.
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic cables, fiber splicing techniques, and telecommunication network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with the use of diagnostic tools, schematics, technical drawings, and computer networking concepts.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics related to telecommunications infrastructure and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, low voltage wiring, cabling, and electrical safety standards.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and safety protocols for outdoor utility work.
- Excellent climbing skills with a focus on safety when working at heights on poles or towers.
- Construction experience with outdoor telecom projects or similar engineering troubleshooting roles is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support technical troubleshooting support across diverse teams.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
