POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our busy multi-specialty office and assist in coordinating all aspects of patient care in the medical office setting. Must be energetic, customer-oriented, efficient, and demonstrate strong multitasking and stress-management skills. Responsibilities include both clinical and administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program
Experience: Primary Care or Specialist experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with insurance authorizations
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a medical office setting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Taking and documenting vital signs
- Competency in lab and radiology orders
- Knowledge of medication rotation
- Processing prescriptions and prescription refills, including EHR documentation and pharmacy communication
- Chart preparation and chart maintenance, including pre‑visit prep, scanning, and ensuring documentation completeness
- Accurate record keeping
- Verifying eligibility for a wide range of HMOs/PPOs
- Submit for prior authorizations
- Answering high-volume phone calls in a professional manner
Phlebotomy is a plus
License/Certifications: Current BLS card from American Heart Association (AHA)
Equipment: Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), EKG machine, blood pressure machine, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse oximeter, computer, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job
Language: Spanish preferred/ Mandarin a plus!!
