Machine Operator
About the opportunity
HTI has immediate openings for experienced Machine Operators with a global paper packaging manufacturer in Spartanburg, SC. Reporting to the Production Team Lead, your primary role will be to ensure consistent production while maintaining high standards of product quality and workplace safety.
- Starting pay rate: $20-21/hr
- Work hours: First shift (7AM-3PM), but may possibly move to 2nd or 3rd shift after initial start
What you’ll need:
- 2+ years of experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the paper packaging, cardboard/paperboard manufacturing, or other packaging industries
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with machine set up, entering specification information and making adjustments as needed; experience carrying out minor maintenance tasks is preferred.
- Previous ERP system and/or PLC data entry for machine setup experience is a plus.
- Good mechanical aptitude and a preference for hands-on work.
- A commitment to workplace safety and the ability to lead by example.
- Ability to work with integrity, display initiative and be a reliable team player.
- An understanding of and commitment to achieving quality and efficiency targets.
- This company requires the successful completion of a background check and drug screening prior to starting the position.
What you'll do as a Machine Operator:
- Perform machine setup in accordance with product specifications.
- Maintain machine run speed and efficiency at target levels.
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process.
- Record production activities and actively communicate issues to supervisors.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety requirements.
- Minimize machine downtime through good manufacturing practice.
- Collaborate with and support team members to improve team performance.
