Maintenance Mechanic
Nexus Employment Solutions Plus, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for a food manufacturing and packaging facility in the Niles, IL area.

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in maintaining and repairing production equipment, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Pay:
$25.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
What You’ll Do:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and packaging equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing issues
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
- Identify root causes of recurring equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions
- Assist with equipment modifications, rebuilds, and installations
- Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to reduce downtime
- Source and replace machine parts and components
- Document repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage
- Train and support less experienced mechanics as needed
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment
- Food processing or packaging industry experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting is a plus
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance and work order systems
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and noisy manufacturing environments
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
