The Audit Support Unit (ASU) within the Audit and Information Section is seeking an ambitious and driven individual to join our team in a Business Taxes Specialist (BTS) I position. ASU is looking for an individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, strong research and analytical skills, and project management skills to manage high profile and time sensitive projects.
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Responding to complex tax inquiries received from the taxpayers and the general public.
- Assisting the field office audit team with highly technical and complicated tax issues.
- Completing complex and time sensitive assignments as requested by upper management.
- Act in a lead capacity and as a highly skilled technical consultant on large complex projects.

- California Revenue and Taxation Code.
- California Tax Regulations.
- California Tax Regulations.
- CDTFA Audit and Compliance Manuals.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework/hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week. Schedules are subject to change.
