Job Overview
We are seeking a patient, kind and open-minded companion for part-time support of a creative, 20-year-old autistic young adult living with chronic illness and pain. This flexible, part-time role offers an enriching opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life by providing companionship, assistance with daily living, and fostering independence. The ideal candidate will be dedicated, patient, creative and eager to create a positive and supportive environment.
Responsibilities & Skills
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
- Experience working with individuals with chronic illness/pain and autism is preferred.
- Must be LGBTQ+ affirming, respectful of trans rights and comfortable supporting neurodivergent individuals.
- Facilitate participation in community outings, appointments, and recreational activities to promote social integration.
- Engage with the young adult through meaningful activities that promote socialization, learning, and personal growth.
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks to support independence.
- Previous home & community care experience demonstrating supportive skills and compassion.
- Night owls welcome, as some support hours may occur later in the day or evening.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
